Indledning
To be a stepparent can be great. It can mean that you have a good relationship to your stepchild, and that you get a child who isn’t yours, but become a big part of your life. But it can also go the other way.
It can also be full of anxieties and bad things. The problematic about being a stepparent is represented in the fiction short story “The Meaning of Clouds” written by Natalie Cox in 2019.

Mags hasn’t got a job anymore” (ll. 31-33) You get an impression that she thinks that she is just stepmother to Bella, and she doesn’t has the same kind of responsibility for Bella, as she has in the ending.

After she has found Bella again, she also has found a purpose, she also has found out that she has some responsibility and that Bella not just is her stepchild, but that Bella actually means something to her, and is important to her.
By this you can conclude that she has gone from not having a purpose in the life, to suddenly having one, and see the meaning by it all.
