“America first” politics is well known from the interest group “America first Committee” who lay pressure on the American Government for stopping the interest in America.
The concept “America first” is especially linked to Donald Trump, who used this concept eagerly during his election campaign in 2016.
He wanted to reduce the American involvement in other countries. And this means that America did drawn from international co-operative deals and has increased the military.

That´s bad news for the workers whom Trump promised to help . The trade agreement in the US influences the available jobs in America.
In the video about the cost of “America first” policy (1.30), they mention that trade agreements normally tend improving productivity among businesses, but now Trump´s policies are against this, and it might influence productivity in America.
If there is no trade agreement, then no productivity and then workers will be less productive and will have to find jobs somewhere else. Maybe the workers will go find jobs in other countries and move to these countries.
Another bad thing about Trump not supporting trade agreements is that America will get a bad relationship to the world in general.
Trade agreements strengthen relations between countries. During the cold war has helped to improve global relations and preventing conflicts and today we have a peaceful world trade due to trade agreements.
If we are going to continue to have good relations with the world countries, it requires keeping peace and having agreements between each other that will benefit everyone. Trump thinks that trade agreements might lead to an opposite effect which means more conflicts and poorer prosperity.
In the video “this is the cost od president Trump´s ´America first´ policy”, (1:30), they indirectly say that Trump´s politics will harm or have negative consequences for foreign relations.
America has an important role in the bigger picture in relations. America is funding for organizations such as NATO, which are trying to preserve peace in the world, and they need the money to do so.
Members of NATO could see Trump as an enemy if he cut down on trade deals, and countries would not like to help America is they were in trouble.
