Opgavebeskrivelse
Task 1, explain Tiffany Hyatt ́s motives for always carrying a gun.

Indledning
Tiffany Hyatt was a victim of a really bad and brutal rape, she was beaten by policemen on duty. Now she is a 31-year-old mother of four children.

Her motto is “it is better to have a gun and never use it than to need a gun and not have it” (l..27-28).

As a survivor of such a traumatic experience, she has now educated herself on how to use a gun for self-defense, if something would ever happen to her again.

Uddrag
The article contains good reasons to carry a gun, for her own personal experience. If I would live I the US and hadn’t had any friends or family that would have experienced something like a rape or worse, I don’t think I would be carrying a gun.

Because I would be feeling like a criminal, running around carrying a gun in my bag.

If you would ever feel like a guy were about to attack you and you had a gun, he doesn’t, but you get so nervous because it may be your first time thinking about using you deadly weapon.

He comes up from behind grabs you and because he is a lot bigger and stronger, he tears the gun out of your hand, now your gun can’t be used to protect you, but can be used against you and kill you.

Another argument for not to carry a gun or have it in your household, is if you have children, children shouldn’t be a danger by living in a household, where there is a gun, also if it is locked away, in my eyes that is just wrong.

If there would ever be a situation, where I would have to chance to shoot someone, I wouldn’t want the responsibility of deciding to take someone s life or not.
