The text itself is written in third person with the main characters internal dialogue describing everything in great detail.
Although the author doesn’t name any of the characters, you never feel confused as to what is doing on due to the limited amount of them.
The only character that gets a ‘name’ is the snake catcher, the main character and her boyfriend are only referred to as she or he.
That could be because of the snake catcher’s importance to the plot, since he is the one who tells the protagonist the indigenous story of the Python Woman, making the protagonist and reader connect to the animal and feel the impact of the climax of the story in with the snake dies.
