Indledning
I have chosen to make an analysis of the short story “Son of Satan”. The short story “Son of Satan“ was written in 1982, by Charles Bukowski, a German-American short story writer.
“Son of Satan” is a very interesting short story. It involves everything from bullying to friendships. I think that the novels main theme would be bullying, very hardcore bullying.

The main character is a victim of violence himself. The narrator’s father is beating his son.
“He was upon me with a rush” (p. 44, 239) “The next blow rolled me under the bed” (p. 45, 244). His father is very violent.
I think that’s where the narrator has his violent behavior from. The fact that the narrator grew up in a violent home, with a father who beats him up, makes it more obvious that the narrator inherits it.
I assume that “Son of Satan” took place in a English-speaking country, judging by the names of the people in the story, such as Hass, Morgan and Simpson (p. 39, 1), those are all very English names.
