Is there one overriding meaning with life, or do we have to find our own? Some people mean the meaning of life is that we all are going to die in some way.

Other people believe that life is about making the most of life and enjoying it to the full. And some people give up on life when they experience resistance because it does not make sense to fight for something that will end one day.

The short story "Yellow" by Peter Carty is about the protagonist Jon, who has been forced by his boss to participate in a diving course in Egypt.

In his everyday life, he works as a writer for a magazine in London. But suddenly, the safe everyday life ends, because he has been commissioned to write an article about diving, even though he is terrified of diving and generally does not like physical activity.

The story has a third-person point of view, which is limited as the reader only gets insight into Jon's actions, words, and thoughts throughout the story.

The choice of this type of point view causes the reader to get close to the protagonist, and in this way, you can relate to him and perhaps gain some sympathy for him.
