The short film "Washdays" is directed by Simon Neal. Kyle washes his bedsheets while his mother hurries him.
He is late for school and thus his teacher asks for a notice which Kyle does not have.
The next morning, he is washing his bedsheets again and tells his mother about the notice. Outside of school he reads the letter.
It mentions his bedwetting problems. He tears the letter and ditches school. He tries to go to a clinic, but he cannot make an appointment without his mother.
Then he goes to the library to read a medicine book but runs away when he is caught in a misunderstanding. In the end he goes to a small shop.
There he sees a woman stealing. Kyle puts something in his backpack and runs back home. The shop keeper visits their home and informs the mother about the matter.
She is angry and wants to know what Kyle has stolen. She then sees that it is a pack of diapers. The mother ends up embracing Kyle.

It is not easy struggling with a shameful problem when you are young. Should you take responsibility for it yourself or seek help from someone close?
This is a dilemma the young boy Kyle faces in the short film "Washdays" from 2009.
The short film deals with the family's responsibility as its main theme as it follows Kyle's struggle with a bedwetting problem.
The story takes place in England and by looking at their home it does not look like they have a lot of money. We are probably talking about a lower middleclass.
