Indledning
Technology is for us living people a source, that we find difficult to live without. Technology has left its marks on modern society, in the form of the internet and social media.
However, technology also has its drawbacks. The short story “The Veldt” by Ray Bradbury from 1950
is a perfect example of how a technologically driven house slowly can split a family and take over the most precious role you can have in life: being a parent.

In the short story, the kids named Peter and Wendy are very spoiled. This is seen several times in the text, such as when Peter has a conversation with his father about doing basic things himself
instead of having someone doing it for him (p.67, ll.8-10). The children are also very sensitive and used to getting their way. They are particularly sensitive, when it comes to the nursery.
We see that, when the parents talk about closing the nursery, because they are afraid of the lions, but do not dare, because Peter had a tantrum the last time George closed the nursery for a few hours, to punish him.
