The high seas are the areas beyond national jurisdiction, they are defined as areas outside of the 200 nautical mile Exclusive Economic Zone of each coastal nation.
The high seas alone cover about half of the earth’s surface while making up about two-thirds of the world’s oceans.
Even so, the high seas are full of charming and important features such as the millions of different species regarding animals and plants, while being a key component in the world’s ecosystem.
With that said, the high sea is generally dominated by the wilderness. Containing a wide variety of dangerous untouched nature, especially after you get below a couple of thousand meters where not even sunlight reaches.
At this distance, a vast majority of monster-like creatures roam the waters. Relying on their extraordinary senses, as a consequence of no light penetrating below a thousand meters.
