After the second world war the size and speed of modern migration increased dramatically in Great Britain. Immigrants from the British Empire came to work and live and has since been contributing to Britain’s multicultural population.

They create neologisms for example Britasian (17), which translates to British Asian. In addition, they speak with a contraction of words and in general use slang.
Jas has a hard time using the right desi-lingo: I still can't attain the right level of rudeboy finesse. If I could, I wouldn't be using poncy words like attain an finesse, innit.
I'd be sayin I couldn't keep it real or someshit, because he’s more educated than the other members, and his language is closer to standard English.
The boys view their desi lingo as an expression of their animosity towards standard English, which to them symbolizes the establishment and the white mainstream culture.
