Indledning
This is an analytical essay based on a short story named Not Wanted, written by Maggie Cobbett. The essay comes around themes as migration, pride, persistence and traveling. It is an adventure which extends on an actual journey, with a young man traveling half around the world and a mental evolution in becoming an adult.

It is about a young man who is named Osman. He lives in Turkey and works in the kitchen at a hotel. One day a beautiful woman named Liz checks in to the hotel, with immediate attention from Osman.

Osman falls in love quickly with Liz and he think he can feel some signals from her side and so he chooses to act on it and invites her out on a date. Everything is good and their romance is flourishing. After a good time together, Liz is returning home to England where she is from.

Osman is heartbroken after she leaves. Therefore, he decides to travel to England so they can be reunited. After a long and tough journey as an illegal migrant he arrives to Liz’ place where she meets him with contempt and tells him to leave at first given chance.

He decided not to go home. He did not have enough money to go home and he was too proud to return to his family as a failure. After a rough time as unemployed and homeless he finally finds himself a job and his future starts to look bright.

The short story is written in a third person narrator with a limited point of view from the main character Osman.

Osman is a nineteen years old turkish boy, who in the beginning of the story works in a kitchen at a hotel in Turkey and ends up in a kitchen in Leeds. In the story he falls in love with Liz who is a british school teacher.3 She travels to Turkey to get some space after a painful break-up with her ex boyfriend.

She is described as beautiful5 and Osman is eager to be with her right from the beginning.
