Good afternoon, everyone and thank you so much for coming. It is truly an honor to be here at Leiths School of Food and Wine
and I am thrilled to see so many gathered in this assembly hall today. To those of you who don’t know already, my name is Dina and I am an entrepreneur from Denmark.

Raise your hand if you have ever thrown away edible food? As I predicted, most of you have. Wastage of food products is one of the greatest challenges of our time.
To put it in perspective, let’s look at some numbers. If we reduced the amount of food wasted around the world by 25%
there would be enough food to feed the 795 million people who are malnourished . Each year in the UK, 15 million tonnes of food are dumped , and at home, we spend a staggering 12 billion pounds a year buying food that we end up throwing away .
