Indledning
Immigration has been an increasing subject in the last decades, as a consequence of conflicts such as war or oppression. Fleeing in another country means having to fit into a new society with different norms and behaviors.

Many immigrants find it hard to integrate with the new surroundings and cultures. In the short story “Edge of the World” from 2020, the author Souvankham Thammavongsa expresses the issues about living in a foreign country and the struggle many immigrants feel when trying to fit in.

This quote exemplifies her dramatizing the reality, which ended up in her leaving her husband and daughter. But she isn’t the only one who doesn’t fit in, the father struggles too.
