The hashtag went viral and under 1 day it was shared more than a half million times. Today the hashtag is shared 20 million times. There are many different opinions about the hashtag.
Many people think that the #MeToo-campaign creates a room where women finally can speak up about the horrendous experiences they have been though, and it seems like the world is truly realizing the severity of this situation.
Women have always been afraid to admit that they have been raped or harassed, especially in work-related situations where the superior have been used their “status” and have been harassing women and then they are afraid of losing their job so they do not say anything about it.
It is a community that is supportive and united, where women can feel free to talk about what happened because they know that other people have it like them and therefore can relate to it.
