The article “‘Dreamers’ Put Their Trust in DACA. What Now?” from ́New York Times ́ in 2017 is written by Jose Antonio Vargas. As mentioned at the end of the text he is also “the founder of the organization Define American”(p.3,l.61)

which is a “nonprofit media and culture organization that uses the power of story to transcend politics and shift the conversation about immigrants, identity, and citizenship in a changing America”.(p.3,l.63-65) The article concerns himself and his own experiences.

Furthermore, it shows how arduous it is to be a child of illegal immigrants and their status and rights in the US. The significant question here is: What defines you as a person and what defines your home? Is it exclusively based on the color of your skin or your financial income?

For instance, if you have lived in the US most of your life illegal, you feel like you belong there, and it is the place you will consider as your home. Then the scariest stranger of all is the United States government because they could deport you from the place YOU call home.
