The United States of America is incorporating the majority of all undocumented citizens with a number of almost 11 million.
Action for Children Arrivals Program is a program created by Barrack Obama. The program helps immigrants, under 16 years old, from deporting.
The program got popular fast, and many people put their trust in it. After Donald Trump came to power, he abolished the program leaving the immigrants without safety and protection.
This is a problem, that the journalist and filmmaker Jose Antonio Vargas enlightens us about in his article ‘Dreamers’ Put Their Trust in DACA. What Now? written for the New York Times on September 9. 2017.

The story appears as very sad and emotional. This is an interaction of the author’s use of words and the composition.
The author primarily uses pathos by building up a connection to the reader. This he does by taking us into his personal life and playing on our feelings:
“The first adult I ever told I was here illegally was Mrs. Denny, my high school choir teacher. It’s a story I’ve told many times, and written about too, because the moment meant so much to me .”
This really appeals to the readers feelings. Another form of appeal he uses is logos. The author uses logic to persuade his readers.
He gives us hardcore facts along his own story, so he has something to build his case around. An example is given here:
“Can we trust Congress, especially given that some Democrats and Republicans have historically used so-called Dreamers, named after the long-stalled Dream Act, as bargaining chips?”
He uses this to get the readers to ask themselves questions about the authority of the Congress. This is a key-element in the text.
Another important element is his use of ethos. He establishes from the start a certain reliability to the reader.
He uses his own story to appear reliable and trustable. He also has ethos from Define American, which is his own company, where they try to change the conversations about immigrants.
