Founder, year of foundation
Ray Kroc started selling paper cups, and milkshake machines.

He then discovered a popular hamburger restaurant owned by Dick and Mac McDonald, he went into business with them and started McDonald’s in 1955.

Development of the business up until now
Up until now McDonald’s has developed over 38,500 restaurants worldwide, serving food for approximately 69 million people every day.

It all started in December 1948 where the first McDonald’s started by the brothers Maurice and Richard Mcdonald in San Bernardino, California. After that Ray Kroc was intrigued by their need for shake mixers.

Kroc then opens McDonald’s in Des Plaines, Illinois on April 15th in 1955.
Through the years, McDonald’s potato chips was replaced with French fries

and The Filet-O-Fish sandwich was added to the national menu as the first item. The McDonald’s logo changed a lot, and is still changing.

International expansion
Ray Kroc vision was there would be around 1,000 McDonalds restaurants in the United States.

McDonald’s then continued to grow and was expanding into the international market. Today McDonald’s has, as said before, franchised over 38,500 restaurants all over the world.
