Uddrag
Growing up in a small town called Murupara, in a small Christian home as the youngest of two daughters, she is close to her Mauri roots.

The town she grew up in is known for their Mauri activities, and it’s ultimately what inspired her to pursue politics. It wasn’t uncommon for children to not have anything to eat or to walk around barefoot.

Early in her life, Jacinda’s father moved Jacinda and the rest of the family to a small town outside of Auckland, where she eventually attended elementary and primary school.
