In the story we meet Jocie, Brandon and their mother. Jocie and Brandon is brother and sister. Their father left them at an early age.
Jocie is a middle-aged woman, she is feeling home at work, therefore she also spends a lot of time at work. She is a manager. She has always been the one who took responsibility at home. She babysitted Brandon and took care for him quite often when she was still a kid.
Since she was always the child with the responsibilities Brandon has gotten used to not have any himself, that pissed Jocie off, especially on the car trip.
Brandon is 31 years old and has a job in the insurance industry. He is very irresponsible, and always knows how to give another one the fault when something bad happens. We do not get the name of their mother stated, so I will mention her as “mother”.
She is a single, since her husband left her years ago, while Jocie and Brandon were still kids. She is approx. 60 years old.
