On the mole Tommy is walking in the abandoned streets of Dunkirk then his team and him are attacked by the Germans.

Tommy is the only one to get out to the beach, where he puts himself in one off the lines of soldiers along the shore. After an attack, he and Gibson frantically try to sneak on a ship going to England by carrying a wounded man on board.

The ship is shot down and they are sailed over to another ship, where they get put under deck, but once again they are attacked, by a torpedo this time, and the majorly drowns on the ship.

Then Tommy comes back to the beach he, with two other men, joins a group going to an abandoned boat held back by the tide in an unprotected area. While the tide is coming, fire is pulled at the boat and is slowly sinking, most of the boys are lucky enough to be rescued by Mr. Dawson’s boat and sailed to England.
