Indledning
Women today are not suppressed a lot, but what was it like to be a woman in the 1900th century? There have and will always be a difference between men and women, but during most of the 1900th century women didn’t have the same rights and power as they have today.

The short story “A Telephone call” by Dorothy parker is an example of the mind of a suppressed woman in the 1900th century.

The story is written in first person by an unnamed woman. The setting of the story is one room, and in the narrators mind the whole story. From the first sentence: “PLEASE, God, let him telephone me now.”, the reader realizes that that the narrator is desperate by introducing God into the story.
