Beside her love for words, the story also includes her own lover, GI Nat Racket an American sweetheart. Rose was in love with him, and he wanted to marry her so bad. The drawback was his name, it was too slight and swattable.
For this reason, she explained she wanted to wait a little, and by that, Nat gave Rose a Parker 51 pen, where she would be able to write him. Furthermore, in the text, Rose met with a man called Roland Bloom over a dinner.
They started to fall for each other, and as time passed by, Roland also wanted Rose to be his wife. Rose thought about Roland’s surname and she loved the way her full name would sound if she married him.
She then wrote her last letter to Nat and wanted to return the pen, but she couldn’t go through it. Roland had borrowed the pen a numerous of times, and one day, he lost it, at first Rose was on the edge of tears but suddenly she didn’t seem to care.
