Indledning
Knowledge is key and perspective is not always a given but perhaps a knowledge we acquire over time that makes looking back on seemingly bland and ordinary situations as beautiful and highly treasured moments.
The story takes place in a train heading through Scotland towards Inverness. It is mentioned that it is just past 10 am and the sun is shining through the windows of the train.

The main protagonist is Don as we follow his inner thoughts and memories. He is described as six foot two and quite bulky with big hands, big feet, and a huge nose.
His clothes may not fit his age very appropriately as he wears camo pants with drawstrings and lots of zippers. His age isn’t mentioned but we are told that his wife Alice is forty years old. Therefore, we can assume that he is around that same age.
He is very caring towards his wife and kids although he does argue with his son a lot, seemingly because he is rather set in his ways of perpetuating the world. He is a static character who does not go through a huge change personality-wise.
The plot is revolved around this one moment in the train that does not have significant momentum but is, in fact, the happiest moment of the protagonist’s life.
The story’s structure is somewhat chronological. After a few flashbacks “The happiest moment of his life so far, besides the one he’s about to experience, was when he saw Alice waiting for him outside what was then still called Kentucky Fried Chicken”
