The Plight of India´s Women | Discussion Essay

Often, India is associated to poverty and poor living conditions, but this is actually not the only big problems in India. Gender inequality is extreme, which leads to no respect for women and parents not wanting daughters at all. Women and girls are simply dropped from the society and is sometimes seen as an object just to give birth to boys.

The systematic elimination of female fetuses widens the gap between boys and girls and makes sure to shore up social problems for the future . The gender imbalance will grow, when not as many girls are born than boys. This will also worsen men's attitude towards women.

Men will be giving this power because they will be in majority. The demand for sons among wealthy parents is being satisfied by the medical community through the provision of illegal services of sex-selective abortion.

The financial incentive for physicians to undertake this activity seems to be far greater than the penalties associated with breaking the law. Taking one’s life is not considered at all because of the incentive the physicians is giving.
