Often, India is associated to poverty and poor living conditions, but this is actually not the only big problems in India. Gender inequality is extreme, which leads to no respect for women and parents not wanting daughters at all. Women and girls are simply dropped from the society and is sometimes seen as an object just to give birth to boys.

The financial incentive for physicians to undertake this activity seems to be far greater than the penalties associated with breaking the law. Taking one’s life is not considered at all because of the incentive the physicians is giving.
