Indledning
Most relationships are rough and you can not run away from the problems because one day you have to face them or else you might drown in your own thoughts.
There are many expectations about the future and about relationships but some people must realize that all relationships are different and that we have to take one day at a time.
Sandra Marslund writes about a younger couple who experiences this phase. The short story “The Other Couple” is written in 2018 by the author Sandra Marslund.

The short story begins in the media res (pg. 1, l. 1: The first time I see them is at breakfast.) and is told in present tense. (e.g → pg. 1, l. 6: My eyes linger on them, a little too long).
The main character presents the elderly couple in the beginning of the story, by saying “the first time I see them is at breakfast” (pg. 1, l. 1).
By referring to the elderly couple as them, the reader knows the story revolves around the elderly couple. The story takes place in England, near Penryn Point (pg. 1, l. 15: “So... Penryn Point today?” you say).
The author does not tell the names of the main couple and it does not say anything about how they look in contrast to the elderly couple, their look is very well described in the beginning of the story.
