Indledning
In almost every election cycle throughout American history, someone on one side or the other is claiming that this particular election is the most significant and important.
It is a tired cliché, one parroted by presidents and politicians every four years in hopes of driving their voters to the polls. However, the presidential election of 2020 could truly be considered one of the most decisive and crucial elections in our lifetime.
With the country in the midst of a recession, an unruly pandemic, and the killing of George Floyd that shaped movements around the world, this election was arguably more economically and socially consequential than anything seen before.

The primary claim that develops throughout the progress of the speech is that Joe Biden is the ideal president for this election. This is substantiated in the following quote:
I know Joe. He is a profoundly decent man, guided by faith. He was a terrific vice president. He knows what it takes to rescue an economy, beat back a pandemic, and lead our country.
And he listens. He will tell the truth and trust science. He will make smart plans and manage a good team. And he will govern as someone who's lived a life that the rest of us can recognize.
It is evident that Michelle Obama wishes the election to conclude with Joe Biden in office. Furthermore, based on the quote, there is an evident use of motivational argumentation seeing that she uses sequences of words such as “he was a terrific vice president”, “he listens”, and “he will tell the truth” - the quote can also be considered as an anaphora which is a rhetorical device popular in many speeches.
