Insourcing is a term used a lot less than its brother, outsourcing. We all know what outsourcing is.
Let us say that we have a small business. We currently make 5 bracelets a day, with our own hands. Then we sell them. When we outsource, we get someone else in China to make our bracelets.
Then we pay them a small amount and then sell the bracelets to our customers. We outsourced because it would be financially beneficial for us. When we insource, we would go back to making it ourselves, because that would be the most beneficial option.

A great example of insourcing is what Elon Musk is currently doing with Tesla . Tesla currently only have a Gigafactory, where all of their cars are produced.
What is important about this, is that it all done by machinery and robots. So, there is barely any psychical labor to mention. Not to mention, it is the biggest factory in the world, bigger than Boeing’s factory, and measuring up to 100 football fields.
