Racism. Discrimination. Immigrants. What is it actually? Today lot of people feel discriminated, and when we hear the word discrimination and racism, we only hear “black people”, and black people does also belong to the category “immigrants”.
It is so much more than that. We hear it and we don’t think about the inclusion of all races, white, black, Afro-American etc. But why do we hate immigrants?
The people who created what America is today deserve respect. We judge people for the color and the history and if we are the same color, we’re feeling judge in the same way. Our government make the immigrant crisis brutal in front of us all.

It shows that he cares, and he tries to tell people that there isn’t an America without those immigrants who have worked for America. Powell uses provocative commentary and spirited sentences.
Therefore, he uses many sentences that are deep “if anyone knows and understands America at its raw and naked core, in the depths of its belly and soul, it is black folks.”
To express how much work and effort immigrants have put into this country, America and that they deserve much more. He argues that immigrants have had a huge impact on the history.
The text is a sharp critique of the immigration politic and behavior, and he’s using a lot of aggressive rhetoric’s for the importance.
Powell are using metaphors when he talks about the black Americans and to describe America “We built the melting pot; our fingerprints are all over that symbol of democracy and diversity.”
It gives the reader different pictures and a different meaning. In the text there are being used anaphora “we have known” which are being used three times in a row, which also a repetition of himself.
