The division and mutual hatred between Catholics and Protestants meant that if you were to grow up in an ultra-loyalist part of town, you almost certainly would be an ultra-loyalist yourself.

For Chambers this meant that the vast majority of people in his school, church and the people closest to him also was heavily influenced by this mindset.
