The cultural differences between “whites” and “blacks” in the American youth society creates unnecessary norms and problems.

But why are today’s cultural differences still a problem that doesn’t seem to become smaller in the nearest future? And that’s what the main character, Cameron, or “Cam” experience in the short story “Black Enough”.

The Narrator in the short story “Black enough” is Cam. We can see that at the beginning of the story where Cam says, “five more minutes” I said as I checked myself once more”.

From that sentence, we can tell that Cam is the narrator of the short story and that the story is told in a first-person narrator. Furthermore, we can conclude that it is a first-person narrator because we only get to know the same things as Cameron does.

The narrator is reliable to a point where as long as Cameron is objective in his opinions, then what we are being told is reliable.
