A student named Emma Gonzalez that is a senior at Stoneman Douglas Highschool, that was in a terrible school shooting incident that left 17 people dead. Held a speech on the 17 February days after the Florida school shooting, at an anti-gun rally in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Here she calls out the president Donald Trump and the NRA. In her speech she used several Rhetorical devices, such as ethos, logos, and pathos, to help support her case and convince people watching.
Emma used ethos as she is a survivor of a school shooting, she shows she got knowledge in the topic as she talks about she is taking an AP Gov chapter 16 test where they “have been having debates on guns for what feels like our entire lives” the statement show she is someone that have already debated and talked with people with different opinions on the topic, and she has a lot of knowledge behind the topic.
Her credibility is shown and people are more likely to support her, as she is a person with a lot of experience.
