Indledning
Emma Watson held a speech at the UN Headquarters in New York on 20. September 2014. Emma Watson is of course known as Hermione from Harry Potter, but the speech is not about wizards and magical spells.
It is about an issue that is present in every corner on this planet, inequality. She is therefore launching a campaign called “HeForShe”.
This essay will focus on Emma Watson’s speech, which I will analyze by using the rhetorical pentagram.

Uddrag
Emma Watson’s focus during the speech is for the most part about how women are the ones at stake. But this inequality goes both ways, and she is aware of that :7 “Men - I would like to take this opportunity to extend your formal invitation.
Gender equality is your issue too,” (ll. 43-44) she said midway through the speech. She talks about some different points, like parenthood and the fact that fathers are being valued less than mothers even thought they are equally important when it comes to raising a child.
She also talks about mental health. Of course, women express their feelings and talk about problems, but in today’s society men are looked down upon if they share how they feel.
