Uddrag
Holden doesn’t work well at his school, he dumps everything except English and he also ends up being expelled from Pencey Prep.

I think that this definitely affects Holden as well, and he also ends up being close to emotional breakdown, not just because of being expelled from the school, but a lot of things, like some of the things above.

When the reader reads this text, there is no doubt that Holden is disappointedwith the life of being an adult and what it brings. There is no doubt about the pain Holden has felt when becoming an "adult".

His attitude points to a tough childhood, and he may be disappointed because it hasn’t changed? There's a symbol in the text that points out that Holden doesn’t want this change

he wants things to remain as they are, without too many changes, and that is The Museum Of Natural History. He also mentions that he is tired of the fact that every time he visits The Museum Of Natural History something has changed.
