The short story “Sonny” written by Rob Magnuson Smith, Is about two guys in a relationship. Together they spend their days like any other normal couple in a small town called Cornwall.
One evening a seagull falls out from the sky. One of the guys, Barry, who is fifty and the younger of the couple.
Immediately becomes attached to the seagull, which he concludes by it falling from a heart attack. Simon, the older one in the couple, is disgraced by the bird and does not like the creature at first.
Only when Simon have to nurture and take care of the bird, becomes he attached to the thing.
The next day the drive off and drop off the bird at the bird sanctuary. Once they came back to see the bird, they could not distinguish the bird from all the other birds.
