We need to act now. Food waste has become a huge problem around the globe. Roughly one-third of the food produced for humans is wasted each year.
Sainsbury dropped the project after seeing the shocking results. Rotten results is probably a better way to say it. Sainsbury spent 10 million pounds on this very project.
The expectation was to reduce food waste by 50% but they only managed to reduce it by 9%. 9% is still a good chunk but nowhere near the goal. Should they have kept on going?
