We need to act now. Food waste has become a huge problem around the globe. Roughly one-third of the food produced for humans is wasted each year. approximately 1,3 billion tonnes of food is thrown out.

Sainsbury dropped the project after seeing the shocking results. Rotten results is probably a better way to say it. Sainsbury spent 10 million pounds on this very project.

The expectation was to reduce food waste by 50% but they only managed to reduce it by 9%. 9% is still a good chunk but nowhere near the goal. Should they have kept on going?
