I immediately wanted to know, why this was so up in the media. People die every day so why was this such a huge thing? That was what asked before I saw the 8-minute-long video of a slowly and painful death.
The United States has seen an extreme increase in the police use of deadly force, for the past many years.
This deadly increase is speculated to have some contributing factors that are internalized racism, knowing that if they do something they will not be punished, and it will stay silent.
These are just a few of the many contributes to police brutality. With new rules, that demand individual accountability, better training and demanding higher education we can help lower police use of deadly force.
