“But while I will be a Democratic candidate, I will be an American president. I will work as hard for those who didn't support me as I will for those who did.” This quote is from Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden's DNC speech, which was held on August 21th 2020.
This speech is in general about how Biden will fix America after everything Trump did to it. In addition to this, the speech revolves around how Biden will reunite and not divide all American citizens.
And last but now least, it is about how he sees America, which is as a generous and strong country, that he believes in. “It's an America we can rebuild together.”
Throughout this speech Biden attaches great importance to the fact that he wants to rebuild America and not only be a Democratic candidate, but also an American president. Therefore, this speech is for all citizens and voters of America.

Secondaily, Biden appeals to the “we”-feeling by bringing up the idea of a united America, which he thinks has been missing the past 4 years. Biden focuses on how we have come to a time, where ‘we’ can change America and reunite it.
“It's time for us, for We the People, to come together”. This also appeals to the familiar slogan: “Yes we can” which was used in Obama’s election campaign. By using a familiar slogan Biden appeals to the typical democratic voter, who believed in Obama and now believes in Biden.
