The election 2020 was nerve-wracking and very close, Donald Trump had already declared his victory early on, but everything changed when the swing states started to turn blue.
Joe Biden reached 270 electoral votes and became the 46th president of the United States. His victory speech shows the values Biden has and his plan for uniting America.
I want to look at the rhetorical features Biden uses and how Biden comments on the context of the speech.

This speech shows that Biden wants to make a change, he wants to: "restore decency, defend democracy, and give everyone in this country a fair shot"(p.2 l.23) and "restore the soul of America, to rebuild the backbone of this nation"(p.1 l.14)
He is using alliteration, triad and personification to describe it. The alliteration and triad are used to draw attention to the sentence and create flow in the speech and personification are used to convey concepts in a relatable way.
So these rhetorical features are making his speech readable for the audience, and that's a smart move because everyone will understand it and therefore he will get a bigger reach.
