Everyone is different from one another. It’s completely normal. We are unable to do anything to prevent it, except for accepting it, and strive to be the person you are meant to be.
This is a theme throughout this entire short story. Where we follow Farida’s process of her realising, that glasses are needed, because of her eyesight slowly getting worse.

This short excerpt from the text, is an example of her self-dependence, and her willingness to learn.
When she realizes she might be blind, she decides to adapt to that, and change for what might be the future.
All because of her parents being miserly, and the fear of how her friends at school might look at her, if she ends up with glasses.
Farida is a very strong and independent human being, who gives space for the people around her. Sometimes too much, so she ends up not prioritising herself.
