Do you ever think about how people perceive you? maybe not… But if you think about it, you can’t help but observe and maybe even judge a person as soon as you meet them or hear a description of them.

In this case Baratunde Thurston , a black activist and comedian, has made a TEDtalk called ‘’How to Deconstruct Racism, One Headline at a Time’’ in 2019 about how we keep judging each other, based on the color of our skin.

Uddrag
His intention with this speech is overall to spread awareness about the topic. He wants to spread awareness about, how the media displays black people, and how whites treat people of color.

To do so he needed to make the topic entertaining, because if the speech isn’t entertaining, people will not listen closely, and it won’t spread the message he wants to spread.

Throughout most of the speech Thurston blames the white supremacy on everyone, he blames it on the system, he blames it on whites, he even blames it on blacks.

He gives everyone the blame because he wants everyone to change. The way he gets his message out might seem a bit provoking to some, but it works, by provoking people he makes them listen.
