Black boy is an autobiography of Richard Wrights. He explains everything he's been through in the painful life he had in Jim Crow South. 1912-1927. In each chapter, he thus explains his painful and confusing memories.
In each chapter one gets to whiten how his perspective was and its thoughts a child had. Since he had written such a thing there are no questions from people and by the end of the story Richard has come of age. His voice has then been merged into one.

When Richard Wraith comes of age 12 he is away from his family and this reinforces his role which he then discovers when he becomes a writer. By he discovers it is due to the fact that the others have also experienced it.
After many years, he comes to school where he feels separated from his classmates. He also gets a part-time job where he also feels separated from his supervisor and colleagues.
When one finds out Richard behaves differently compared to other black people, they reject him, which he does not go into.
