Indledning
Most teens are likely to stand out and feel different from everyone else, and it is not because there is anything wrong with them; they just have interests of their own.

This is what the story “Andy and the snake” by Paul Auster from 2002 is about. The story tells you about how Andys interests saved him from being shot.

Andy is an adult who has a passion for animals. Andy has a journal where he has ridden down stories from his life, which he now tells his friends he has gained over the years.

At the beginning of the story, there is a description of the nature. This could also symbolize the way Andy is.

“Underneath, you’d find a rock. The dirt couldn’t support much growth, but the weeds didn’t care. They grew tall and deep” Andy is to a rock on the inside, and there are no friends to support him, except his brother, who is more a way to blow of steam, than a friend.

However, Andy is still Reckless enough to go down the steep bank to fight a 6 feet snake. In that way, he is different from others because he is making his own way for himself.

During the story, as said before, Andy runs into a gang consisting of 8 teenagers who threw a rock at him.
