The poem begins with “Africa is raped”. “raped” is a very informal word for sexual abuse. The sentence creates a feeling inside of us like wondering or sadness.
Therefore, pathos is used. A lot of manageable words are used, and almost all sentences can be understood by everyone. Fx “From the abundance of her production, her labor, she receives only a grain of wheat, or nothing.”.
