Women’s rights are a fundamental part of society and there should not be a distinction between women’s rights and human rights.
1 Women’s rights include necessities such as living free from violence and discrimination, to earn a fair and equal wage, to have the opportunity to get an education, to vote and to own property.
2 Progress has been made in the everlasting battle for equal rights, but somehow almost 90% of men and women are biased against women.
3 Sad truths like this are still hindering the completion of equality in areas such as work, politics, and education. Another hindrance has been discovered in the shape of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A different challenge for the furtherment of women’s rights is that an alarming 90% of men and women are biased against women.
In an article published by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP for short), they disclose some of the findings that the Gender Social Norms Index have made.
The index is based on data that has been collected from 75 different countries, covering over 80 percent of the world’s population.
The bias towards women are exemplified by the fact that about half of the world’s men and women feel that men make better political leaders.
Furthermore, over 40 percent feel that men make better business executives and that men have more right to a job when jobs are scarce.
With such an emphasis put on women being more involved in politics, it is a little strange to see that such a high percentage of both men and women think that male politicians are better fit to rule.
