Indledning
Many would maintain that only people with mental or neurological disorders were behind evil. Gradually, this conviction has been refuted several times.
The discussion about evil has now been replaced by words like groups, society, moral evil, and natural evil.
Some experiments show that people find it easier to perpetrate evil deeds in situations where de-individualization occurs, or where they perceive others in a way that makes them less humane.

In the article, Stephen Reicher and Alex Haslam employ forms of appeal to convey their attitude to the topic explored.
One of the most apparent form of appeal is logos, which is seen when they make logical connections between ideas and explain the need for a deeper analysis of the values and principles that society contains:
“The choice is not denied to us by human nature but rests in our own hands. Hence, we need a psychological analysis that addresses the values and beliefs that we, our institutions, and our leaders promote.” (p. 193, ll. 19-22).
The use of logos convinces the reader that the writers’ statement is rational and sensible.
