The United Kingdom has experienced major changes over the past decade. In particular, there has been a major change in the population of the United Kingdom.

In other words, there has been an increase in multiculturalism. This means that there is more diversity among the population in terms of ethnic, religious, racial, and other cultures.

You're probably thinking this is a relatively recent development, but it's been going on for a long time. It goes all the way back to when the Romans and Vikings invaded the UK bringing their different cultural values to the UK.

A survey reported by another article reveals that there are areas of the UK which are more diverse than others. The last census recorded 63 million people living in the UK, 8 million of them whom came from minority ethnic backgrounds.

As mentioned before diversity was not evenly distributed if we compare Scotland with England and Wales.

Scotland only had over 4% of their population who were non-white where England and Wales had as much as 14%, with the largest proportion of non-whites from England being located in London, Manchester, and Birmingham.

If we take a deeper look at the famous city of London, diversity is very prevalent around the capital. 2 out of 5 residents in London have a different ethnic background, however, this varies on which borough you are in.

In some boroughs, it is as low as 15.9% who are from a different ethnic background where in others it is as high as 71.2%.
