he race for presidency starts nearly a year before the presidential inauguration. On a Tuesday in March or February starts the first event ahead of the election, Super Tuesday.
On Super Tuesday, half of the delegates will be elected, which determines which candidates are nominated from The Republicans and the Democrats.
In November, the electorate is to be voted on. They must then vote for the person they think should be president in December where they meet in the Electoral College. In January the chosen president will then be presented .

The republicans and democrats are different in many ways, the democrats' philosophy is extremely liberal whereas the republicans are more conservative.
The electoral system in the U.S is a two-party system, which means that the two parties dominate the political field in the three levels of the government.
If a comparison has to be made between the two parties, both parties have different opinions. The difference between the two parties in relation to the economic ideas, the Democrats have the attitude that progressive taxation must be made, which we see today in Denmark, which means that those who have a high income must pay more in taxes.
Republicans, on the other hand, believe that taxes should not be increased for anyone, even those with a high income, they should pay the same as those who are low paid.
Based on social and human ideas, the Democrats have the view that it should be based on community and social responsibility.
Republicans believe it should be based on individual rights as well as justice. In relation to spending on the US budget, the Democrats believe that there should be a reduction in spending, where the Republicans believe the opposite.
when the two parties discuss the death penalty policy, it is very reminiscent of each other, the Democrats support around the death penalty while resistance to the death penalty is an essential part of their base.
Republicans have the same stance, the only difference is that a larger majority supports the death in the Republican Party. The two parties' stance on gay marriage is quite the opposite of the Democrats backing up around it where the Republicans' stance for it should be allowed in the US.
The same applies when talking about abortion. The two parties' attitudes to immigration are partly also different, there is greater support in the democratic party to offer a way to citizenship to a few undocumented immigrants
it can be people who have lived in the US for a minimum of 5 years with a clean criminal record, the republicans are generally very much against amnesty for all the paper loose immigrants, they are also very dissatisfied with president Obamas so-called decree, which did put a moratorium on expelling certain workers .
