Britain is currently undergoing a huge problem, where the younger generation actually are being held back and put a damper on by their upward social mobility.
The path of riches and success is as good as impossible to achieve, unless you are already in a posh and/or wealthy family.
Those circumstances are just not optimal, because your social mobility never should be able to control whether you make it in life or not.
Prime Minister Theresa May has had her say about the problem, and she had the following to say regarding upward social mobility: “The rungs on the social mobility ladder are growing further apart.
It is becoming harder for this generation of struggling families to move up.”1 She also said: “Together we will build a better Britain”2 It just shows that she understands the current situation, and the huge ramifications it has on the poor families and especially the younger generation – the future.
She, as the prime minister vows to help the left behind and stop the problems that are pressuring and threatening the Britain society.

A lot of people are still working hard, and trying to climb the social and economic ladder, even though they keep running harder and harder, they are still standing still.
Those people are called “treadmill families”. Spencer, who is in a “treadmill family” and who works as a bike mechanic told Sky News that he works so hard and still does not have enough to go around.
He said: “When the bills have been paid, I have nothing left”.4 Spencer is one of many who is in a treadmill family, and with no way out. He also expressed his worries about him and his family’s future, because he can not do anything about it.
Spencer has two options, one is to go to work and make the best out of it, and the second is to give up, Regardless, he will not. He will keep going to work, and keep trying to climb, despite his effort he is being thrown down again right away.
At first it was the families with low income and the young students, then the treadmill families also got hit by the crisis. Just imagine not being able to move your position, despite your dreams, goals etc.
