Indledning
In the following essay, I will analyse the obstacles to the social mobility problems in Britain. I will also discuss how to overcome these obstacles.

Britain is being more and more divided which means that an entire generation of young people are being held back from the opportunity of achieving “the good life” because of their upward social mobility.

Young people from poor households are six times less likely to go to Oxbridge, and only one out of eight will ever be a high earner in their adult life.

But what is the reason for this mature problem that Britain is facing at the moment? Prime Minister Theresa May has vowed to make a change with the words: “Together we will build a better Britain”.

She wants to heal the social divisions that are threatening Britain, by making mature changes in the education system to help those who are left behind.

Uddrag
This social mobility problem is very different from area to area in Britain. Children living in London have the highest chances of improving their lives and ending up as high earners. Children living in West Somerset have the lowest chances of achieving “the good life” and ending up as high earners .

West Somerset has the lowest level of social mobility in the country, which may be caused by way too high house prices and too low wages.

There is only one example of a family who has had economically success in West Somerset, which is way to few.

But according to the citizens in West Somerset, they are happy and satisfied with what they have. But that does not mean that it is not a problem for Britain . So do this mean that your chances in life depend on where you live?
